We meet with school administrators and teachers, health providers and others to resolve or clarify issues for the refugee families we have helped with resettlement. We support local and state-wide advocacy efforts to promote public policies that accommodate self-sufficiency and equitable, stable environments for these families. As appropriate, we also partner with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services to support national advocacy activities. Our advocacy efforts are wide-ranging and may include letter-writing campaigns to local or national government leaders as well as financial support for specific needs, all with the hope that refugees may find peace and comfort in their new communities.
