Letters for Nursing Home Residents
Volunteers Needed
For years our congregation has had a special connection with the residents of the Gardens at Juanita Bay. They are right down the street from us. Some of their residents come to our worship services, and every year we provide the gifts for their annual Christmas Party through our Giving Tree outreach each holiday season.
Because of the danger posed by Covid-19, the residents at the Gardens at Juanita are being confined to their rooms for their safety, and there visitors are prohibited except in extraordinary circumstances. Many of them are bored and lonely. The staff at the Gardens at Juanita Bay has agreed to deliver letters and notes to the residents in their rooms along with meals! If you would like to send a letter or note to a resident, just send it to the main address:
Gardens at Juanita Bay
11853 97th Avenue N.E.
Kirkland, Washington 98034
We want to send as many letters and notes as possible to help keep spirits high! Everyone in your household is welcome to participate—I’m sure drawings and artwork would also be appreciated.
Church is more than a building, and in times like these our community is connected for good!
