Communion Connections Class
Sunday, March 23, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm
We, as a congregation, invite people of all ages to participate in the sacrament of Holy Communion. The participation of children is at the discretion and decision of parents. As part of the BAPTISMAL PROMISE, parents committed to provide instruction in the Christian faith, including the sacrament of Holy Communion. The church’s commitment to the BAPTISMAL PROMISE is to provide ways for the parents and sponsors to fulfill their promise. We offer a Communion Participation Class a.k.a. Communion Connections to those families where children are already communing, as well as those preparing for their first communion. We will talk about the history of communion, tell the story of the Ten Commandments, and make bread which will be used at our Maundy Thursday service on April 17 at 7:00 pm. Those who have completed the class will also be recognized at our Maundy Thursday service, and will have a special part to play. Note that this class is NOT a requirement for communion, but simply an opportunity to learn more and ask questions.
This class is designed for 3rd grade students and their parent(s)/guardian(s). Children in 4th-6th grade and their parent(s)/guardian(s) who have not attended in the past or would like a refresher are also welcome to attend.
