FEBRuary 16 • Hebrews

FEBRuary 9 • 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon

Note from Pastor Mike: Throughout the lecture, I make use of the word “slave.” Because I recorded these lectures a number of years ago, I had not learned that a better way is to speak is to use the words “enslaved persons.” At first, I thought this change was not so important, but I now fervently believe that saying “enslaved person” helps me focus on the real person, created in the image of God, who has had something awful done to him or her. It is the same for the word “master.” “Master” often has a strong, even positive, feel; a better word to use is “enslaver.” I have tried to incorporate these words into my own vocabulary and encourage you to do likewise.
