Faith Squad: Tuesday Newsletter

It’s the second day of Faith Squad: God’s Love Unmasked! Today, we are learning about Deborah, a prophet and Judge.  She showed great courage because she knew that God was always at her side.  We can have great courage too when we remember that God is with us, helping us to do the work of loving others.

Be strong and courageous. ~1Chronicles 28:20a

Faith Squad, powered by the love of God.

On the double, whenever there is trouble,

we’re the Faith Squad,

powered by the love of God.

You and me in a new identity,

we’re the Faith Squad.

Deborah was a one of the wise judges in the Bible and sat under a palm tree, giving sage advice and help.  Sitting under a palm tree was her way of showing the world that the Jewish people were united and turned their eyes again to God, just like the leaves of the palm tree that grow upward, towards heaven.

Today, at 9:20 am, we took the group Vacation Bible School & Day Camp picture. Each child receives a group photo on Friday.

When you return to pick up your child, you & your child will be checked at the exit doors to make sure the number tag matches the child’s wristband number. Please keep the number tag easily accessible during check-out. Your child’s safety is very important to us! Also, don’t forget to visit the tables in the Narthex to pick up your child’s arts & crafts projects each day on your way out. See what they’ve been working on!

We are accepting donations of non-perishable food items to go to Hopelink, a local food bank that serves families in our community. We are also collecting school supplies this year, which will be distributed by Lutheran World Relief to families with elementary students who are in financial need.  Please bring your donations anytime during the week so that we can reach our goal of 1,000 items! Involve your child by letting them choose the food or school supply items to donate. See the post from Monday evening for a complete list.

  • Signing In: Please sign your child in each day. Please make sure the person picking up your child has the numbered tag, this makes for easier exiting.
  • ID Bracelets and Number Tags: Your child is to keep the bracelet on the entire week; once it is removed the only way to put it back on is to get a new one with a new number. Please keep the number tag in a safe place because you will need to show the tag when you pick-up your child.
  • Arts & Crafts Pick-up: Beginning Tuesday, your child’s art and science take home projects will be in a paper bag for easy collecting. Please empty the contents each day and leave the bag so we can reuse it.
