Faith Squad: Monday Newsletter

Welcome to the first day of Faith Squad: God’s Love Unmasked! This week, we explore how God is our peace when our busy lives turn stormy and chaotic.  There are big storms and little storms in a person’s life and God is right there, walking with us through all of it.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

Faith Squad, powered by the love of God.

On the double, whenever there is trouble,

we’re the Faith Squad,

powered by the love of God.

You and me in a new identity,

we’re the Faith Squad.

It is estimated that there are around 1,800 thunderstorms that occur across our planet every day!

On Tuesday, July 18th, at 9:20 am, we will take the group Vacation Bible School & Day Camp picture. Each family will receive a group photo on Friday to take home with them.

When you return to pick up your child, you & your child will be checked at the exit doors to make sure the number tag matches the child’s wristband number. Please keep the number tag easily accessible during check-out. Your child’s safety is very important to us! Also, don’t forget to visit the tables in the Narthex to pick up your child’s arts & crafts projects each day on your way out. See what they’ve been working on!

We are accepting donations of non-perishable food items to go to Hopelink, a local food bank that serves families in our community. We are also collecting school supplies this year, which will be distributed by Lutheran World Relief to families with elementary students who are in financial need.  Please bring your donations anytime during the week so that we can reach our goal of 1,000 items! Involve your child by letting them choose the food or school supply items to donate. Look for a separate blog post about specific needs.

  • Signing In: Please sign your child in each day. Please make sure the person picking up your child has the numbered tag, this makes for easier exiting.
  • ID Bracelets and Number Tags: Your child is to keep the bracelet on the entire week; once it is removed the only way to put it back on is to get a new one with a new number. Please keep the number tag in a safe place because you will need to show the tag when you pick-up your child.
  • Arts & Crafts Pick-up: Beginning Tuesday, your child’s art and science take home projects will be in a paper bag for easy collecting. Please empty the contents each day and leave the bag so we can reuse it.
  • T-shirts and Footwear: Please have your child wear the shirt provided every day. This is one of the ways we easily identify who is part of our VBS & Day Camp experience. Also, please make sure that your child wears closed-toed shoes so they can easily participate in all the activities. No flip flops!
