Seasons of Love Newsletter: Monday

We are so exited for Seasons of Love. This week, we will explore church seasons and the story they come together to tell about Jesus Christ. Today we will learn about the seasons of Advent and Christmas. This is a season of busy anticipation and we celebrate the love and hope renewed in our hearts each year through the birth of Jesus. DAILY BIBLE VERSE “And now, O Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in you.” Psalm 39:7  SONG: MINUTE BY MINUTE more...

Idaho Mission Project Day 6: Jr High 2016

Today was our last day at Twinlow and has been an adventure on our journey back. We left the camp this morning at 10:15 and proceeded to Silverwood, where we made the smart decision to go to the most popular ride which happened to be TREMOR. Having this be my first roller coaster in the past 8 years, it was absolutely terrifying, and the craziest 2 minutes of my life. We then made the poor choice of doing on a ride called sky diver. This ride was like a ferris wheel that had cars that went one way. While you were on the ride you would try your hardest to keep your car right side up using a not-so-stable wheel. In conclusion I was a bit dizzy by the time I got off. We next had some lunch and changed into swimsuits to go into the waterpark. Each of us went off on our own journeys in the waterpark. Tirzah, Olivia, and I went on a few intertube rides, the lazy river, the wave pool and 3 water slides that were very, very, VERY tall. Overall the trip was a success, however the sunburn on my shoulders prove otherwise.more...

Idaho Mission Project Day 4: Jr High 2016

Today, we helped out at North West Harvest.  We helped package 2,450 lbs of beans which accumulates to 3,675 meals for the starving. This helps the less fortunate provide food for themselves and their families. This also taught us how many starving people there are in Washington and how only a few hours of volunteering can provide so many meals for a lot of people. It’s fun to think of how we have only done a few hours of volunteer work and yet we have helped so many people get food. Even though we can’t meet them face to face and talk to them, they still know that we care about them.more...

Idaho Mission Project Day 2: Jr High 2016

We had a productive day as we moved into our second day at camp. We spent our first job day by moving compost to a more convenient location for a farming organization known as Food for All. We loaded many wheelbarrows in various ways (together we did roughly 20 something loads), and I personally can take pride in that I became muddy enough that I was required to be hosed before the car ride back, so as not to stain the seats from my accidental mud bath. As the work day commenced, we took the time to relax at the cabin, and to cool off in the lake in the Idaho summer heat.  Jack Edmondsmore...

Idaho Mission Project Day 1: Jr High 2016

Today was an adventure. We ventured from the church for six hours to the Twinlow camp where we are staying. In the beginning everyone was asleep. Later the car ride consisted of a series of riddles and jokes that were horrible but, overall very fun and entertaining. We stopped near Moses Lake for lunch at a place called Bob’s Café. If you are going there they have delicious chicken strips and curly fries FYI. We then proceeded on our way to the camp. There we wound up at a lovely cabin like place. Actually it is more like a very small hotel meaning there are separate rooms within a small building. It’s quite nice here and we can see most of the camp from our living space. The camp its self is much like Lutherwood in Bellingham with a few differences. Overall our time here has been entertaining and adventurous. by Emma Johnsonmore...
