You’ll find that Lutheran worship is often very similar to Catholic mass. The Lutheran church is part of the “liturgical tradition.”

Weddings and Funerals

The church community is present throughout our lives, marking and celebrating times of joy, and offering prayer and support during times of difficulty.

At a funeral, we give voice to sorrow, thanking God for our loved one, and entrusting them into the hands of God. We hold to the promises of baptism, that nothing – not even death – can separate us from the love of God. When the church gathers to mark the end of life, we witness to Jesus’ death and resurrection, and offer the strength of companionship. Please call the church office to speak with one of the pastors about a funeral or memorial service.

God creates us to be in relationship: as friends, family, neighbors, colleagues, and in many other ways. We rejoice when two people make a life-long commitment to one another, and surround them with prayer as they begin a new life together. The pastors will work with you through several pre-marital counseling sessions, both in preparation for a wedding, and for marriage itself. As a Reconciling in Christ congregation, we welcome all couples to be married at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church. Please call the church office to speak with one of the pastors about having a wedding here. Because the church is most importantly a community of people, and not a building, we do not rent the sanctuary for weddings without one of the pastors of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church.
